Terms of Service
Last updated: June 14, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your engagement with Connected Estate ("we," "us," or "our") for smart home integration, network design, and IT consulting services. By submitting a Site Survey request, signing a Service Agreement, paying an invoice, or otherwise engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Scope of Services
Connected Estate provides residential smart home design, enterprise-grade network configuration, device integration, automation programming, and ongoing remote support.
Our services are configuration and consulting only. We do not perform physical labor of any kind, including but not limited to: low-voltage cabling, wall fishing, drywall work, electrical work, TV mounting, antenna installation, or any other construction-trade activity. All deliverables are produced digitally and/or remotely. Where on-site presence is required, it is strictly for diagnostic, configuration, and walkthrough purposes.
The specific deliverables, timeline, and fees for each engagement are described in a separate Service Agreement provided prior to work commencing.
Estate Discovery
The $500 Estate Discovery is the required intake step for every engagement. It includes a concierge on-site assessment of your estate or active build, a Wi-Fi heat-map, a Residential Privacy Audit, and a written set of recommendations. Payment is collected at booking via Stripe and may be revised at any time.
- Credit: the full $500 fee is credited toward your final project invoice if you proceed with Connected Estate within 90 days of the survey.
- Refunds: the Discovery fee is refundable up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, and refundable in full if we decline to proceed after assessment. Completed Discoveries are otherwise non-refundable.
- Rescheduling: you may reschedule once at no charge with at least 24 hours' notice.
Client Responsibilities
You agree to provide reasonable access to your property and network when on-site work is scheduled, accurate information about your existing systems, and timely responses during the project. You are responsible for ensuring that any third-party equipment or services required for our work — including but not limited to ISP service, modem, electrical outlets, structured cabling, and existing low-voltage infrastructure — are available and functional.
You represent that you are the estate owner, authorized representative, or — for new construction engagements — the custom home builder or builder's authorized representative with authority to make changes to the network and connected devices at the property in question.
Payment & Billing
Project pricing is provided in writing following the Estate Discovery. All payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers or banking details. A deposit may be required before work begins, with the balance due upon project completion or per the schedule outlined in your Service Agreement. Care Plan clients are billed monthly in advance.
Late payments more than 30 days past due may result in suspension of ongoing support services until the balance is settled.
Electronic Signatures & Records
By signing the Service Agreement on our website, you consent to transact electronically and agree that the electronic signature, printed name, IP address, and timestamp captured by our system constitute a legally binding signature equivalent to a handwritten one under the U.S. E-SIGN Act and Florida's Uniform Electronic Transaction Act.
Service Area
Connected Estate primarily serves Lake Nona, Harmony West, St. Cloud, Eagle Creek, Storey Park, and the Greater Orlando area in Central Florida. On-site engagements outside this region are accepted on a case-by-case basis and may incur travel fees disclosed in advance.
Warranties & Limitations
We warrant that our configuration work will perform as described in your Service Agreement for 30 days following project completion. If a configuration we deployed fails within that window, we will remediate it at no additional charge.
Hardware warranties are governed by the respective manufacturer and are not provided by Connected Estate. We are not liable for outages, performance degradation, or failures caused by your Internet Service Provider, power interruptions, third-party firmware updates, hardware defects, acts of God, or changes you or any third party make to the configuration after our engagement ends.
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED ABOVE, OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Connected Estate's total cumulative liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or any service provided shall not exceed the total fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or business interruption.
Intellectual Property
Network diagrams, configuration templates, automation scripts, and other deliverables created during your engagement are licensed to you for personal use at the property they were designed for. Our underlying methodologies, templates, and know-how remain our intellectual property. Redistribution or commercial resale of our deliverables or methods is prohibited without written consent.
Confidentiality
Each party agrees to keep the other's non-public information confidential and to use it only for the purpose of the engagement. This obligation survives termination of these Terms.
Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement with written notice. You will be invoiced for all work completed up to the termination date. Care Plans may be cancelled at any time and will end at the conclusion of the current paid month.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Osceola County, Florida, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email to active clients.
